# Shipyard Judo - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `shipyardjudo.com` ## Description Shipyard Judo is a judo dojo serving the Coos Bay and North Bend area on Oregon’s southern coast. Its program welcomes children and adults, with classes designed for different age groups and schedules throughout the week. Children can train on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while adult classes meet on those evenings as well. A women’s class is offered on Mondays. The dojo’s roots date to 1992, when the program began at Southwestern Oregon Community College (SWOCC). After 31 years at the college, the community program moved to Shipyard Judo, described as one of the Northwest’s largest and most up-to-date judo training facilities. Instruction is supported by 10 United States Judo Federation-certified black belts, whose combined teaching experience exceeds 100 years. Shipyard Judo provides a place for local students to learn and practice judo under experienced instructors.
