## Description

The Schweizerische Hilfe für Mutter und Kind (SHMK) is a Swiss organisation supporting women, couples and families facing difficulties related to pregnancy or childbirth. Its counselling service is staffed by professionals from social and medical fields and offers free, confidential help. A telephone helpline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and people can also contact the organisation by email or WhatsApp. SHMK counsellors work with those who are unexpectedly pregnant or considering abortion, helping them explore options and identify perspectives for life with their child. The organisation also provides information about pregnancy, child development and abortion, alongside personal stories and educational resources. Its website highlights a baby hatch service, campaigns and ways to support its work through donations. SHMK reports that 1,319 women, couples and families sought advice or assistance in 2025. It also operates or links to related initiatives and websites, including babyfenster.ch, prodonna.ch, hoerst-du-mich.ch and mami-si.ch.
