Shortie Surfboards is an independent surfboard brand based in Redhead, New South Wales, founded and run by Sam Ayton, also known as Shortie. With a lifelong commitment to shaping, Sam designs and finishes each board himself, focusing on a personalised fit for the surfer’s style, body, and favourite waves. The brand emphasises thoughtful design, durable construction, and handcrafted finishes, including pigment work and glassing.

Shortie offers custom surfboard orders as well as tried-and-tested models. The Micro Mid combines a shortened mid-length outline with generous volume, a pin tail, and a vee and double-concave bottom; it can be configured as a twin fin or with a stabiliser. The Crazy Swayze is designed for varied conditions, with a low rocker, deep single concave, and double concave through the tail for speed and manoeuvrability. Both models are available in PU or epoxy, with colour options.
