## Description

Shrunken Head is a well-established brand that has been operating in Chapel Hill for over 53 years. It all started back in 1962 when Mary Edna and Shelton Henderson owned the Shrunken Head Boutique in the beach town of Jacksonville, NC. Initially, the Shrunken Head was a head shop selling a wide range of items, from hippy paraphernalia to beach classics like bathing suits and LEVI jeans. In 1969, the Shrunken Head Family relocated to Chapel Hill and started catering to Tar Heels with their eclectic merchandise and Carolina Beach Music. However, it was in 1982, after UNC Basketball won the NCAA Championship, that the Shrunken Head's section of Carolina merchandise took over the entire store. Since then, the brand has been devoted to providing a Carolina experience that is a must-stop on Franklin Street. If you're a UNC alumni, student, or fan, the Shrunken Head has everything you need to show your support on game day. From UNC face tattoos to rivalry pins, they uphold the beloved Tar Heel traditions. Visit Shrunken Head and be part of the UNC Game Day excitement.
