## Description

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1952 to connect mathematical theory with practical applications in industry, science, and other fields. Its international community includes more than 14,000 individual members and nearly 500 institutional members from academia, business, research, government, and the military. SIAM brings together mathematicians, engineers, computational and data scientists, and other professionals to share ideas and address complex challenges.

The organization publishes 19 peer-reviewed research journals, along with textbooks and monographs for researchers, faculty, and students. It also produces SIAM News, covering developments in applied mathematics and computational science. Members can participate in conferences, activity groups, sections, student chapters, and online communities, and access professional development resources, career information, job listings, and internships. SIAM offers educational and research programs, including opportunities for students and early-career researchers, and recognizes achievement through prizes and awards. Through these publications, events, programs, and networking opportunities, SIAM supports the advancement and practical use of applied mathematics and computational science worldwide.
