## Description

Siccona is a food and science lab based in Lund, Sweden, working to create better, healthier foods for a broad audience. The organisation combines research, concept development and partnerships to bring ideas from science to people’s plates. It also connects international research collaborations, innovative food projects, business opportunities and a network of experts, encouraging an ongoing exchange of ideas.

Siccona’s work draws on more than 25 years of experience in lifestyle-related disease prevention, clinical nutrition and palliative medicine. Its guiding inspiration is the food and way of life associated with Okinawa, Japan, whose population is known for longevity and health. Over 15 years, this interest has informed the development of the Okinawan-based Nordic diet®, which serves as a platform for research and innovation.

The organisation studies how food and everyday habits can support good health. Its research covers food and nutrition, physical activity, social and behavioural patterns, and meaningfulness. Siccona also shares publications and develops concepts with partners who share its purpose of helping others.
