## Description

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. (SCFG) is a nonprofit organization focused on improving the quality of life for individuals and families in Georgia affected by sickle cell disease. Serving the nation’s fourth-largest sickle cell population, the Foundation aims to empower people with the condition to live healthier, fuller lives and reduce the disease’s burden on communities. Its work combines direct care and support with education, counseling, and advocacy for people with sickle cell disease, from newborns through adulthood.

SCFG offers programs and services including SNAP, provider training, community health worker initiatives, health fair participation, and opportunities to get tested and learn one’s status. Through the Sickle Cell Sanctuary, it provides traditional and holistic care, including hematology and oncology services, psychotherapy, nutrition and fitness counseling, IV hydration and infusion services, and massage therapy. The organization also shares information through news, events, a talk show, and a related podcast. Donors and volunteers can support its work through one-time gifts, monthly giving, and other contributions.
