SID Indonesia, also known as the SUMMIT Institute of Development, is a foundation that was legally established in 2007. The foundation was formed by former Senior Management Team Members of the SUMMIT, a large-scale randomized controlled trial conducted in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The goal of the SUMMIT was to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in the context of routine prenatal care.

With the belief that health can be improved through participatory approaches and evidence-based decisions, SID aims to enhance the quality of human resources and achieve improvement in health and human development at the community level. Their mission is to improve maternal and child health by promoting the participation of every community member in decision-making processes, improving access to information and health services, and establishing communication and information systems at the community level. SID also focuses on developing human resources to become agents of change, driving better behavior within communities.
