## Description

Sidmouth Watersports Hub CIO is a volunteer-run community organisation supporting people and groups who use the sea at Sidmouth for sport and leisure. Established as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in July 2025, it brings together independent sailing, sea angling, gig rowing and surf lifesaving clubs, alongside the Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat. The Hub also welcomes the growing interest in kayaking and sea swimming, and aims to make its seafront location an affordable, flexible place for community activities.

The building, historically known as Port Royal, was funded by local sailing and angling clubs in the 1960s and has served as their home ever since. Today, its facilities include ground-floor changing rooms, showers and toilets, plus a first-floor lounge, bar, kitchen and sea-view balcony. The lounge can be arranged for meetings, training, social gatherings and events, with seating for around 60 for meals. The Hub is available for hire, and during Folk Week and Sidmouth Regatta it serves food and drinks to the public.
