## Description

Such Is Life Death Doula Services, LLC (SIL) provides nonmedical support to individuals, families, and caregivers facing serious illness, end-of-life transitions, and bereavement. Serving Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the organization aims to guide, educate, and comfort people as they consider their wishes and navigate difficult decisions. Its services include advance care planning, helping clients document preferences so loved ones can understand and honor them if they can no longer communicate. SIL also offers compassionate conversations about life, unfinished business, comfort, and meaning, as well as support in preparing a meaningful environment for end-of-life care. After a death, the organization accompanies grieving families with culturally sensitive, nonjudgmental support, recognizing that grief is personal and has no set timeline. Founder Katherine “Kathy” Topazio is a registered nurse with more than 37 years of experience across nursing, palliative and hospice care, dementia support, and related fields. Her background informs SIL’s practical and emotional assistance, including help navigating local care resources and supporting families through loss.
