## Description

The Zürcher Silvesterlauf is a major Swiss running event held in the heart of Zurich, bringing together elite athletes, recreational runners, children, families, people with disabilities and spectators. Organized by the Verein Zürcher Silvesterlauf, with TV Unterstrass identified as its organizer, the event combines competitive sport with a welcoming community atmosphere. Its 50th edition is scheduled for 13 December 2026, and registration is open.

Participants can choose from a range of race categories, consult practical guidance on schedules, routes and race-day arrangements, and take part in charity-related activities. The program also includes an accompanying event village and Silvesterlauf-Märt, where exhibitors present useful and new products connected with running. The website provides training resources, event news, results, historical information and details for runners, spectators, residents, media and volunteers. Through its mix of participation, elite racing and public festivities, the Zürcher Silvesterlauf offers a city-wide celebration of movement and community, while connecting sport with health and charitable engagement.
