## Description

Simkea is a free-to-play online role-playing game that combines retro, old-school gameplay with a medieval economic simulation. Run as a hobby project since 2003, it invites players into a peaceful fantasy world shaped by a detailed story of refugees building a new home in Trent after the fall of the kingdom of Noröm. Players can explore the land, complete quests, develop character skills and attributes, gather and produce goods, build houses, trade through an auction house, and encounter non-player characters. The game features a wide variety of imaginative items, supported by atmospheric sound and visual content. Its community-focused design avoids player-versus-player combat and construction or production timers; optional player-versus-environment combat does not require participation. A welcoming player community supports newcomers, while the developer works directly with players alongside a team of helpers. Simkea also hosts regular events and livestreams, with special items awarded for participation. Ongoing development includes mobile-use improvements and changes to the talent system, with player suggestions reviewed for possible implementation.
