SINCERE is a four-year project funded by the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program. It aims to develop innovative policies and new business models by connecting knowledge and expertise from practice, science, and policy across Europe and beyond. The project focuses on forest ecosystem services (FES), which are the various ways forests contribute to society. FES include products and services that directly or indirectly benefit people, such as edible and non-edible forest products, water and air quality, hunting and tourism activities, and nutrient cycling. The project's final paper presents policy-relevant findings to support FES in Europe, addressing challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.
