## Description

SiOS, or Self-Injury Outreach and Support, is a dedicated non-profit initiative founded through a collaboration between the University of Guelph and McGill University. Its mission is to provide essential resources and information related to self-injury, aimed at individuals who self-injure, those in recovery, and supportive friends and family. Offering a wealth of materials, SiOS encourages sharing personal stories and offers coping strategies to help individuals manage their urges effectively.

Through various guides tailored for specific audiences—such as friends, romantic partners, parents, and professionals—SiOS emphasizes education and understanding. The initiative hosts a collection of recovery stories and practical resources designed to foster connection and support among those affected by self-injury. SiOS also provides research-informed guidelines for educational professionals to address self-injury in school settings. By promoting awareness and reducing stigma surrounding self-injury, SiOS plays a crucial role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, emphasizing that no one is alone in their experience.
