## Description

SISEF, or the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology, is a non-profit association dedicated to advancing the fields of forestry and forest ecology in Italy. Comprising scientists and professionals, SISEF aims to foster sustainable forest management and enhance ecological research. The organization supports a variety of activities, including the establishment of thematic working groups focused on critical issues such as forest biodiversity, soil ecology, and urban green spaces. SISEF also organizes biennial national congresses that serve as platforms for researchers and industry operators to share knowledge and discuss contemporary topics in forestry and ecology. Its commitment to disseminating valuable research is reflected in the publication of the open-access journal iForest, which covers a wide range of forest science topics. SISEF actively engages with its members and interested parties through newsletters, seminars, and training courses, promoting collaboration and innovation in sustainable forest practices across Italy.
