## Description

The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) of Scranton, Pennsylvania, are a Catholic community of women religious founded in 1845. Inspired by the spirit and purpose of Saint Alphonsus, the congregation serves God and people by participating in the mission of Jesus and sharing a message of unconditional love. Its members work collaboratively to address contemporary needs and support the full development of human potential in the United States and Latin America.

IHM ministries include education, environmental care, healthcare, pastoral and spiritual services, and social services. The congregation also supports sponsored and co-sponsored organizations, justice and peace advocacy, intercultural initiatives, and efforts to advance climate and ecological justice. People can connect with the mission as sisters, associates, volunteers, or friends, and explore vocational discernment and other ways to participate.

The congregation welcomes visitors to its Scranton campus, where offerings include walking paths, chapels, the IHM Center, Our Lady of Peace, Heartworks Gift Boutique, and the Bistro.
