About

Description

SisterSong is a Southern-based, national membership organization dedicated to improving the reproductive lives of marginalized communities. With a history dating back to 1997, SisterSong was formed by 16 organizations of women of color from Native American, African American, Latina, and Asian American communities. Their mission is rooted in the belief that reproductive justice is a human right: the right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.

SisterSong plays a crucial role in the reproductive justice movement, serving as a thought leader, movement voice, ambassador, trainer, convener, facilitator, and organizer. They publish analysis on reproductive justice, raise awareness of little-known issues, and connect the movement with other social justice causes. SisterSong also trains activists, integrates the reproductive justice framework into various initiatives, and hosts conferences for women of color working on reproductive justice.

By donating to SisterSong, you can support their efforts to build an effective network and advance the reproductive rights and well-being of marginalized communities
