Sisters Together and Reaching, Inc. (STAR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was founded in 1991 to address the inequities in services available to African American women and their families living with HIV/AIDS in Baltimore City. Since its establishment, STAR has been providing comprehensive support services to HIV infected women, men, and their families in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Located in the heart of Baltimore City, STAR is situated in a predominantly low-income African American community where HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are prevalent. These issues are further complicated by substance abuse, domestic violence, crime, poverty, unemployment, and substandard housing. Over the years, STAR has built a solid reputation in the community and has developed multiple collaborative partnerships to effectively address not only HIV but also other health disparities associated with the virus.

Their services include nontraditional outreach, medical and prevention case management, mental health services, capacity building assistance, financial assistance, support groups, prevention education, and confidential HIV counseling and testing. Serving populations such as the general population, incarcerated individuals, and minority men and women, STAR also deploys Community Health Workers to help mitigate the poor health outcomes experienced by these communities
