## Description

16colo.rs is a vibrant online archive dedicated to preserving the rich legacy of ANSI and ASCII art, a creative form that flourished through the Bulletin Board System (BBS) underground scene since the early 1990s. This unique platform houses a diverse collection of artpacks, which are curated groups of artwork originally designed for display on textmode consoles. 16colo.rs not only allows users to browse and explore these art packs by various categories and tags, but also offers advanced search functionalities, helping users locate specific pieces based on artist names, file types, and years.

The community-driven site encourages collaboration among artists through public drawing servers and a modern interface for uploading and sharing content. Despite the decline of BBS popularity with the advent of the internet, 16colo.rs continues to attract artists dedicated to this retro art form. With features like a chat platform for artists and a focus on public interest archiving, 16colo.rs serves as both a historical archive and a contemporary hub for ANSI/ASCII art enthusiasts.
