## Description

Skansens Venner is a local association dedicated to bringing new life to flag-raising traditions and popular Constitution Day celebrations at Skansen, a protected historic fort in Hundested. The site is owned by the Danish Nature Agency and is known for its scenic views and sunsets. The agency has donated a new flagpole and plans to restore the fort’s four cannons.

The association holds flag-raising ceremonies on Denmark’s official flag days and the national days of the Nordic countries, displaying the relevant flags. It also plans to mark other significant occasions and to dip the flag when the Royal Ship visits the Isefjord. Skansens Venner organizes Constitution Day events in the spirit of earlier celebrations, featuring a Constitution Day speech, communal singing, music, the Royal Danish Navy Tambur Corps and a “Skansebar.” The association is also exploring whether the fort’s cannons can again be fired in salute.

In summer 2025, more than 250 people attended a revived Constitution Day gathering.
