## Description

Cheapskates Skate Skool is a Christchurch-based skateboarding school and event provider, operating across New Zealand’s South Island. Established in 2010, it describes itself as New Zealand’s longest-running learn-to-skate programme and says more than 35,000 young people have learned in its safe, supportive environment. Its friendly instructors teach children and adults of different ages and abilities, helping beginners build confidence and more experienced skaters develop their skills at their own pace.

Services include private lessons at local skate parks or suitable locations, with casual and ongoing options for beginner and intermediate skaters. Group sessions can be tailored for schools, holiday programmes and other groups, with mobile skate park and fundamental-skills options. Cheapskates also runs birthday skate jams, bringing instructors, equipment and a mobile park to the venue. Skateboards, helmets and crash pads are available to hire, and the mobile park—with ramps, boxes and rails—can be hired for schools or events. Based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, the team also supports girls’ skate clubs and skate competitions.
