## Description

SKIMO Austria is an Austrian platform dedicated to skibergsteigen, or ski mountaineering, bringing together news, competition information and resources for the sport. Its website covers the national scene and international events, with reporting on athletes, races, training, equipment and safety. The organisation also shares information from the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) and the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF), including competition calendars, results, regulations and updates on the sport’s development.

A central initiative is the SKIMO Alpencup, a joint series of alpine races in Austria and Germany that recognizes the overall champion, described as the “Skibergsteigerkönig der Alpen.” The site provides event details, registration and scoring information, as well as guidance for race organizers. It also offers service resources such as insurance information, ÖSV membership guidance, downloads and links to partners. Through its news coverage and event listings, SKIMO Austria supports athletes, clubs, organizers and enthusiasts seeking practical information and updates about ski mountaineering. The organisation says its work and reporting are financed exclusively through advertising.
