## Description

Sky-pirates is a kite-flying team based in Rijsbergen, the Netherlands, founded by Rene and Petra Baremans on August 1, 2000. Its aim is to practise and promote kite flying in all its forms. The team has six members and began as a power-kite group before expanding into a broad range of kite activities. Its collection includes single-line, dual-line and four-line kites, with a particular focus in recent years on designing and building single-line kites, especially during the winter months.

Sky-pirates attends kite festivals and events and is regularly invited to give demonstrations. The team also runs workshops, sharing its enthusiasm and skills with visitors. Since 2009, it has organised the Rijsbergse Vliegerdagen, a two-day kite event held each year on the third weekend of August. The team’s website features information about its members, kite activities, historical kites, event schedules, and extensive photo and video archives. Sky-pirates describes itself as an all-round team where enjoyment and a friendly atmosphere come first.
