## Description

The International Ford Retractable Club (IFRC) is a not-for-profit organization for people who enjoy the 1957–1959 Ford Skyliner, the first mass-produced retractable hardtop. Founded in 1971, the club promotes the preservation and restoration of these distinctive cars and encourages interest in their innovative, complex yet reliable roof mechanism. The mechanism uses solenoids, microswitches, and motors, operated by a switch beside the steering column.

IFRC connects enthusiasts through local chapters, membership activities, an online forum, photo galleries, and an annual national convention. Its members gather to share knowledge, celebrate their cars, and recognize outstanding vehicles through awards. The club also publishes SKYLINER magazine bi-monthly, featuring content for the retractable Ford community, and offers IFRC merchandise. Information about the cars, club activities, conventions, bylaws, and membership is available through its website. Based in Cicero, New York, IFRC is independent of Ford Motor Company and its affiliates, and conducts official club business through its designated office.
