## Description

SkyMapper is a decentralized astronomy network that connects telescopes and all-sky cameras around the world to support continuous observation, research, and public participation. Combining imaging technology, artificial intelligence, and Web3 infrastructure, the platform aims to map activity from the sky to objects in orbit while making astronomical data accessible and verifiable.

Its products include SkyBridge, a device that connects compatible personal telescopes to the network, allowing owners to contribute observations and access shared resources. SkyViewer is the platform’s command center for controlling equipment remotely, viewing live telescope feeds, submitting observation targets, coordinating campaigns, and exploring discoveries. SkySphere is described as a service for real-time monitoring and global access; it is listed as coming soon. The company also features smart telescopes, including Odyssey and Equinox 2, with automated alignment, and offers branded merchandise.

Participants can join campaigns to track comets, satellites, and other events, exchange telescope time, and collaborate with researchers and citizen scientists. SkyMapper uses blockchain-based systems for data ownership, provenance, and tamper-resistant records, with Akave providing decentralized storage infrastructure.
