## Description

Slam Poetry Magyarország is a central hub for Hungary’s slam poetry community, bringing together performers, audiences and cultural organisations. Active since 2006, the organisation shares information about the art form and helps people discover its events, slammers, clubs and news. Its website also provides a media library and updates on competitions, including national championship qualifiers and regular club events. Aspiring performers can apply to take part in competitions or open-mic sessions, while audiences can find opportunities to experience live slam poetry. For schools, libraries, cultural centres and other institutions, Slam Poetry Magyarország offers tailored literary sessions and creative writing or performance workshops. These programmes are designed to connect with each institution’s aims and audience, giving participants ways to engage with literature through spoken-word performance. The organisation also introduces Hungarian slammers and publishes news and event coverage, supporting visibility and connection across the scene. Through live events, educational activities and online resources, Slam Poetry Magyarország helps make slam poetry accessible as both a performance art and a shared community experience.
