Slow Dough Bread Co. With a rich family history of bread-making, Slow Dough is passionate about sharing their bread with your family. The story begins back in 1886 when the first family bakery was established in Germany.

Since then, the art of baking has been passed down through generations, evolving and expanding along the way. In the 1980s, inspired by his time working in a French bakery in Paris, Heath Wendell, the founder of Slow Dough, embarked on his own bread-making journey. He delved into bread recipes and laid the groundwork for his own business.

In 2009, Slow Dough Bread Company was founded in Houston, Texas, driven by a desire to bring artisan-style breads to the community. As the demand for Slow Dough's bread grew, so did the size of their bakery. Today, they operate out of a 40,000 square foot facility and serve 38 grocery stores and 350 restaurants across Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and College Station.

Despite this growth, Slow Dough remains committed to their slow fermentation methods and the techniques passed down from generations. At Slow Dough, they pride themselves on being Houston's largest all-natural bakery. With over 500 wholesale accounts and a dedication to baking bread the way it used to be, Slow Dough continues to deliver fresh bread all over Texas.
