- **Primary alias:** `smao.ai`

## Description

Its AI phone assistant can catch calls when staff are busy, answer routine questions using approved information, and pass complex or urgent matters to a person with relevant context. Businesses can use smao for appointment booking, IT support, customer service, quote requests, callbacks, lead qualification, complaints, and order-status enquiries.

The platform connects with more than 70 tools, including CRM systems, ticketing services, calendars, and workflow applications, and can transfer results in a structured format. Teams configure assistants, routing, knowledge, contacts, and automations through the platform; the cloud service can typically be set up and tested within minutes. smao supports more than 10 languages and offers an on-premises option for particular operating requirements.

The company says its cloud hosting and conversation processing are based in Germany, with no OpenAI or US AI subprocessors involved in conversation processing. Customer data is not used to train AI models.
