## Description

Smile Train Africa is a brand that focuses on transforming the lives of children with cleft lip and palate through cleft repair surgery and comprehensive care. Their model is centered around empowering local doctors by training them to provide cleft treatment in their own communities. By adopting the teach a man to fish approach, Smile Train ensures sustainability and long-term impact. Donations to Smile Train Africa go towards funding local hospitals in the developing world, enabling them to offer cleft repair surgery for children in need, completely free of charge. This cost-sharing model encourages hospitals to contribute to each surgery. Smile Train's commitment to patient safety and quality care is unwavering. They have strict standards in place, which doctors and associated medical professionals must abide by. In addition to cleft repair surgery, local medical professionals also evaluate the need for additional care such as nutrition, speech therapy, orthodontics, and therapy to ensure comprehensive cleft care. With Smile Train Africa, a new smile is created for each child, boosting their confidence and transforming their lives. Join Smile Train's mission and help create countless smiles across Africa.
