## Description

Smith Capital Investors is a private, independent investment management firm based in Denver, Colorado, specializing in active fixed-income investing. The firm brings together an experienced team focused on disciplined, fundamentally driven strategies and investment excellence. Its approach emphasizes risk-adjusted returns and capital preservation, including in strategies where generating high income is a goal.

Rather than relying on benchmark popularity, Smith Capital Investors evaluates the risk and return opportunities available in the market. Its investment process uses security selection and sector rotation to pursue its objectives, supported by rigorous research and a dynamic fundamental framework for assessing when risk is appropriately priced. The firm offers absolute- and relative-return investment products and strategies, including offerings referenced through ALPS and First Trust.

Smith Capital Investors describes its culture as investment-centric and built on discipline, integrity, character, empathy, and service. It prioritizes collaboration, accountability, meaningful client relationships, and a strong commitment to employees. The firm’s stated mission is to deliver consistent, risk-adjusted results while preserving capital, while recognizing that investment involves risk and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
