## Description

The Indian Council of Medical Research – National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (ICMR-NICPR) is dedicated to advancing public health by addressing the increasing challenges posed by smokeless tobacco (SLT) use in the South East Asia region. With a firm commitment to effective implementation of tax measures and Tobacco Advertisement, Promotion, and Sponsorship (TAPS) strategies, ICMR-NICPR aims to strengthen the regulatory framework necessary for the prevention and control of SLT consumption. Collaborating closely with The Union, an organization committed to tackling tuberculosis and lung disease, this initiative focuses on reinforcing state-level policies that regulate SLT use, ultimately contributing to national health goals. The brand features a dedicated project team comprising experts across various fields, ensuring comprehensive research and evaluation of SLT regulations. Through ongoing projects and the establishment of a knowledge hub, ICMR-NICPR strives to lead the charge in enhancing public awareness, health education, and regulatory guidance surrounding smokeless tobacco, making significant strides towards improved health outcomes in the region.
