## Description

The Southwest Minority Supplier Development Council (SMSDC) supports minority business enterprises (MBEs) and corporations seeking stronger supplier relationships. Guided by its commitment to certify, develop, connect, and advocate, the organization works to expand opportunities for MBEs to access corporate business, capital, contracts, and professional connections. Its programs include MBE certification, which helps businesses pursue opportunities with Corporate America, and development resources designed to build capacity and strengthen partnerships between suppliers and corporate representatives.

SMSDC also offers corporate membership, with benefits for companies working to increase diverse supplier participation in their supply chains. Its PLUS+ platforms and subscription services provide additional tools and support for corporate members and certified MBEs. The council creates opportunities for both groups to meet through events and offers further learning and information through its resources, bookcase, news, and photo gallery. SMSDC serves communities through locations in Austin, Oklahoma City, El Paso, and San Antonio. It also states a commitment to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination across its programs and activities.
