Swiss National Bank (SNB) is the independent central bank responsible for conducting monetary policy in Switzerland. With a focus on ensuring price stability while considering economic developments, SNB creates an environment conducive to economic growth. Additionally, there are representative offices in Basel, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Lucerne, and St Gallen, as well as 13 agencies operated by cantonal banks, serving the country's money supply. As per the act, SNB sets aside provisions to maintain necessary currency reserves for monetary policy.

After deducting expenses, a dividend not exceeding six percent of the share capital is paid from the net profit, with one-third going to the Confederation and two-thirds to the cantons.
