## Description

Special Needs Network, based in Los Angeles, CA, is a nonprofit grassroots organization dedicated to addressing the crisis of autism and developmental disabilities in underserved communities. They strive to provide support and resources to marginalized individuals and advocate for disability rights and racial justice. Special Needs Network offers a wide range of programs and campaigns, working from both a top-down and bottom-up approach. These initiatives include in-person events, virtual programs, and Facebook LIVE sessions. One notable program is SNNABA, which provides direct therapy in a one-to-one setting using behavior-based principles and naturalistic teaching strategies. Families can access these services through various funding sources. Recognizing the urgent need for early intervention, Special Needs Network emphasizes early screening and diagnosis for children. They recommend screening three times before the age of three to ensure the best chance of success and access to appropriate services. Furthermore, the organization hosts various events throughout the year, such as Joe Patton Academy Camp and the Back 2 School Community Health + Resource Fair, to foster community engagement and provide support. By supporting Special Needs Network, you can help make a meaningful impact in underserved communities, supporting children and families facing developmental disabilities.
