## Description

The Sociedad Tolkien Española (STE) is a Spanish community dedicated to the life and works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Founded in 1991, it brings together readers and admirers through local groups, known as smials, and activities across Spain. The society shares information about Tolkien’s biography and bibliography, publishes news and articles, and maintains a Spanish-language library of books, essays, magazines, and other documentation that members can consult and borrow.

STE organizes events, reading groups, and gatherings, including its annual EstelCon, and provides a calendar of activities and Tolkien-related commemorations. Its publications include the magazines Estel and Nolmë, alongside the Regreso a Hobbiton podcast and other online content. The society also hosts awards and competitions for essays, short stories, fiction, audio stories, crafts, and photography. Visitors can explore resources, news, and event information on its website, while those interested in participating can learn about membership, renewals, local groups, and society projects. STE offers Tolkien enthusiasts opportunities to connect, learn, create, and celebrate the author’s imaginative world.
