## Description

SØF Søskendeforening is a community for people whose brother or sister has a disability. It works to ensure that siblings and other family members have space to share their experiences, find understanding and connect with others in similar circumstances. Through its activities, SØF creates opportunities for conversation, reflection and mutual support, while raising awareness of what it can mean to be a sibling or parent of a person with a disability.

From autumn 2024 to spring 2025, SØF ran a pilot series of four sibling cafés in the Copenhagen area for participants aged 18–35. The gatherings offered a safe setting for sharing experiences and finding common ground. The association also arranges talks and workshops for siblings, parents and children, including activities developed with organisations such as LEV and CP Danmark. SØF participates in LEV’s Min søster, min bror project, which aims to strengthen relationships, community and networks between siblings as they transition into adulthood. People can get involved by joining, volunteering or supporting SØF.
