## Description

Women in Aviation International’s soFLy Southern Tropics Chapter is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit representing South Florida and the islands. It works to encourage, empower, and educate people whose interests, lives, or careers involve aviation and aerospace, with a focus on advancing females and helping build a more inclusive, sustainable industry. Its community brings together students, professionals, and aviation enthusiasts from varied backgrounds.

The chapter invites members to participate through a two-step process: joining soFLy Southern Tropics and Women in Aviation International, with chapter affiliation noted during WAI registration. Members can connect with others, develop professionally, and support efforts to inspire girls to explore aviation and aerospace careers. The organization also offers scholarship support, helping girls and women access resources, training, and education.

Other ways to contribute include donations and sponsorships, which support the chapter’s mission and workforce development efforts. Its activities include Girls in Aviation Day events in South Florida, alongside member events and community programs.
