The Institute offers several programmes and services. Its Fellowship Programme supports more than 250 Fellows seeking to create lasting change in their disciplines, institutions and communities. The Research Software Maintenance Fund provides investment to help keep essential research software alive, tested and well governed. Green DiSC is an open-access certification scheme focused on reducing the environmental impact of research computing. The Institute also provides free training, practical guidance, online resources and more than 100 guides covering software development, research practice, policy and community building.
