## Description

SolarSPELL is a global educational initiative based at Arizona State University, aiming to empower learners globally by providing localized educational information and the training to build 21st-century skills in offline environments. The initiative combines curated digital libraries, solar-powered, offline technology, and the training to build information literacy and internet-ready skills. The solar-powered, offline technology is rugged and ultra-portable, designed to reach even the most remote and unconnected areas of the world. The digital libraries span primary and secondary education, health, agriculture, and the environment, offering a wealth of open access resources carefully curated to meet local information needs. SolarSPELL also uses a train-the-trainer model and works with in-field partners like Peace Corps and UNHCR, while continually expanding implementations to new countries and regions. ASU students, librarians, faculty, and staff form the core team of SolarSPELL, dedicated to creating a positive impact on educational opportunities both globally and locally.
