## Description

The School of Music and the Arts (SOMA) is a Singapore music education institution offering practical learning for aspiring musicians and people exploring creative skills. Its programmes serve students from varied musical backgrounds, including beginners, and are designed to support personal development and pathways into the music industry. Diploma courses cover areas such as songwriting, music production, audio engineering and performance, with curricula intended to reflect current industry standards. Short certificate courses provide focused introductory training in topics including electronic music production, mixing, and software such as Logic and Pro Tools.

SOMA also offers weekly individual and group lessons in instruments, voice and dance for learners of different ages and abilities. Personalised lessons can support goals such as external examinations, competitions and portfolio preparation, while workshops introduce accessible, topic-based music experiences for beginners. Students learn from faculty members with industry experience and can use the school’s facilities. SOMA graduates may also receive advanced placement into AIM bachelor’s programmes.
