## Description

Somerville Open Studios (SOS) is a non-profit organization based in Somerville, Massachusetts, dedicated to promoting and showcasing the work of visual artists in the community. Every year, SOS produces an annual open studio event and related activities that provide a platform for local artists to exhibit their creations. The organization aims to expand public access to art by allowing visitors to explore artists' working spaces, interact with the artists themselves, and appreciate both the finished artworks and the creative process behind them. Managed by a Board of Directors comprised of participating artists, Somerville Open Studios is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who help organize the event. SOS has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, with over 400 artists participating each spring. In addition to open studios, SOS also presents special exhibitions and events, such as fashion shows and film festivals, to showcase the city's vibrant arts community. For more information about this organization and their upcoming events, please visit the Somerville Open Studios website.
