## Description

Special Olympics Michigan is a brand that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Their mission is to help athletes develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy while participating in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. With the support of caring volunteers, coaches, family members, and staff, these athletes achieve their dreams. Special Olympics Michigan is funded through donations from Michigan citizens and businesses. They offer a variety of programs that promote awareness, inclusion, unity, and health. These programs include Special Olympics Health, SO College, Young Athletes™, and Unified Champion Schools (UCS). With over 23,000 participants, 24 sports, 2,900 certified coaches, and over 23,000 volunteers, Special Olympics Michigan is dedicated to revealing the champion in all of us. Join them as an athlete or volunteer to make a difference in the lives of these incredible individuals with intellectual disabilities.
