## Description

Sonfish Outdoor Adventure Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates adaptive, marine-related adventures for families living with disabilities. Its mission is to support the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of children with special needs while building disability awareness among volunteers. Centered on the calming benefits of water, Sonfish designs experiences around each child’s abilities and includes the whole family. Activities are adapted to participants’ needs, including children who use wheelchairs, and program activities are covered, with families paying only a small fee for a participation T-shirt.

Sonfish’s adventures include therapeutic dolphin swims and other outdoor experiences intended to help children explore their capabilities, celebrate milestones, and share memorable achievements with their families. The organization also works with volunteers and relies on donations and fundraising to make these opportunities possible. Supporters can contribute through sponsorships, with Captain and Admiral sponsors eligible to receive a dolphin swim to give to a child with special needs. Sonfish presents its work as an opportunity to empower families and celebrate each child’s uniqueness.
