## Description

Special Olympics New Jersey (SONJ) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, all completely free of charge. At SONJ, our mission is to bring pride into the lives of our athletes, their families, and the communities they reside in. With over 5.7 million Special Olympics athletes and Unified Sports teammates in 172 countries, we are proud to be part of a global movement. Our programs are designed to make a difference in the lives of our athletes, promoting inclusivity, health, and athlete leadership. We offer a wide range of sports and athletic activities across various seasons, from fall and winter sports to spring and summer sports. Additionally, our Sports Complex in Lawrenceville provides athletes with access to free participation in all activities. As a trusted organization, we prioritize transparency and responsible financial management. In 2016, 85% of every dollar donated to SONJ went directly towards benefiting athletes through various activities and programs, surpassing the industry standard. Join us in our mission to create a more inclusive and supportive society for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Explore our website to learn more about our history, leadership, impact, and ways to get involved through volunteering, coaching, or making a donation. Together, we can make a difference.
