## Description

Die Sonnensegler Bürgerenergiegenossenschaft eG is a citizen-owned renewable energy cooperative serving the Fürstenfeldbruck district in Germany. Founded in 2021 by local residents, it brings together more than 400 members to advance the regional energy transition and keep investment returns and economic value within the community. Members can participate in project decisions and may benefit from project revenues over the long term.

The cooperative develops renewable energy projects, including wind and solar installations, and is expanding into local heat supply. Its featured initiatives include the Bürger-Solarpark Olching, the planned Bürger-Windpark Jesenwang, and the Nahwärme Adelshofen heating project. The Jesenwang plan calls for four Enercon E-160 wind turbines, while the Olching solar park is being developed with partner MSE. Sonnensegler also shares expertise on wind, solar, and geothermal energy and provides information about projects, events, and the energy transition. People can support its work by joining the cooperative and investing in shares.
