## Description

Sonoma Botanical Garden, located in Glen Ellen, CA, is a brand that aims to inspire appreciation and understanding of the beauty and value of Asian and California native plants. Since its establishment in 1987, Sonoma Botanical Garden has been devoted to celebrating and conserving the plant diversity of temperate East Asia. In 2021, the brand expanded its vision to include the California floristic province, another biodiversity hotspot. The Garden offers visitors an immersive experience in conservation action, with meandering pathways, seasonal features, hidden picnic spots, and a tranquil atmosphere. Each plant is meticulously accounted for with unique identifiers, species names, and source information. The Garden also actively tracks the impacts of climate change through recording seasonal changes of specific species and participating in a national community science effort. As a protected habitat for local wildlife, the Garden helps combat habitat fragmentation and ecosystem alterations in the surrounding wildland interface. Sonoma Botanical Garden is not only a sanctuary, but it also plays a crucial role in genetic diversity preservation. Rare and endangered plants, grown from wild-collected seed, are carefully cultivated and their offspring are sent to other botanic gardens, minimizing the risk of loss from fire or other natural disasters. Furthermore, the Garden contributes to global plant research by sending cuttings and samples to researchers around the world, aiding in the understanding of these unique plants and the prevention of unintended consequences, such as the introduction of invasive species. Stay connected with the Garden's monthly e-newsletter, The Garden Bridge, and support their mission by becoming a member, a volunteer, or making a donation. Sonoma Botanical Garden invites you to join them in their commitment to conservation and the preservation of botanical treasures.
