## Description

Special Olympics Ohio is a nonprofit organization that advances inclusion through sports, health education, and leadership programs for people with intellectual disabilities across Ohio. Its vision is an inclusive state where athletes can lead active, healthy, and fulfilling lives. The organization serves approximately 20,000 athletes across all 88 Ohio counties and offers participation at no cost to athletes.

Programs include traditional and Unified Sports, Young Athletes, health and fitness activities, Healthy Athletes, Athlete Leadership, and Unified Champion Schools. Athletes can train and compete in 19 Olympic-style sports, while volunteers, coaches, Unified partners, and community organizations can support the programs in different ways. Special Olympics Ohio also organizes state sporting events, fundraising activities, the Polar Plunge, and the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and connects athletes with USA and World Games opportunities.

The organization welcomes community involvement through volunteering, coaching, partnership opportunities, donations, and apparel purchases. It also shares event news, athlete achievements, annual reports, and Hall of Fame information.
