## Description

The Soo Music Project serves as a vibrant digital archive dedicated to the musical heritage of Sault Ste. Marie, showcasing both legendary and emerging musicians from the area. Established by artists for artists, the project invites locals and visitors alike to explore the rich tapestry of the Sault's music scene, spanning various genres, including rock, blues, jazz, country, and more, with roots tracing back to the early 1900s. Initiated by Shaun Antler, the project began as personal research and evolved into a comprehensive database featuring profiles for over 1,800 bands and musicians. This multi-media resource collects and curates audio recordings, photos, and historical memorabilia, enriched through contributions from the community, local musicians, and cultural bloggers. The Soo Music Project also collaborates with the Indivision Network, enhancing artist profiles and promoting local talent. It's committed to championing the area's music culture, fostering music tourism, and providing a platform for musicians to connect and share their stories.
