## Description

Sorbster Inc. develops wastewater treatment solutions designed to remove targeted heavy metals and other trace contaminants from water. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, the company offers Sorbster Media, a functionalized, enriched alumina that bonds soluble contaminants to active sites through adsorption and chemisorption. Its products include media tailored to selenium, mercury, copper, fluoride, and silica, as well as multi-metal solutions. Sorbster also offers its Clean Crate ready-to-deploy system and treatment options for temporary remediation and long-term applications.

The company serves industrial process-water treatment and pollutant-discharge needs, including applications involving dewatering, coal combustion residuals, flue-gas desulfurization blowdown, and stripped sour water. Its approach is designed to treat multiple metals in a single pass using industry-standard vessels, with lead-lag configurations for continuous operation during media changes. Sorbster provides water diagnostics and testing, pilot programs, and temporary treatment services. The company states that its EPA-co-developed media can support wastewater compliance efforts, reduce operator intervention, and allow spent media to pass the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure under applicable conditions.
