## Description

SoroJá is an independent, volunteer-maintained guide that helps people find hospitals designated as reference points for antivenom treatment in Brazil. Its searchable directory uses information from Brazil’s Ministry of Health, which may be delayed or outdated, and lets users look for nearby hospitals using location or search by city, name, or state. Users can also filter information by the type of animal involved, including scorpions, snakes, spiders, and caterpillars, and consult guidance explaining which antivenoms may be relevant. The hospital list and phone numbers can remain available offline after the first visit, while maps and routes may require an internet connection. SoroJá is maintained by Eduardo Cruz and is not an official Ministry of Health service or a substitute for emergency care or medical evaluation. It emphasizes that only health professionals should determine and administer antivenom, and directs users to call Brazil’s emergency services, including SAMU at 192. The project is open source and accepts voluntary contributions to help cover hosting, domain, and maintenance costs.
